What Love Is or Does

What Love Is or Does…

Thoughts by ten people with smarts infinitely greater than mine:

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.” ~~ Lao Tzu

“We love life, not because we are used to living but because we are used to loving.” ~~ Nietzsche

“Love takes off masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within.” ~~ J.A. Baldwin

“Love in its essence is spiritual fire.” ~~ Lucias Annaeus Seneca

“Love is the crowning grace of humanity, the holiest right of the soul, the golden link which binds us to duty and truth, the redeeming principle that chiefly reconciles the heart to life, and is prophetic of eternal good.” ~~ Petrarch

“Love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is done well.” ~~ Vincent Willem Van Gogh

“The greatest happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved; loved for ourselves, or rather, loved in spite of ourselves.” ~~ Victor Hugo

“Love is a better teacher than duty.” ~~ Einstein

“Love is a springtime plant that perfumes everything with its hope, even the ruins to which it clings.” ~~ Gustave Flaubert

“Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.” ~~ Mark Twain

Yes, I have these printed out, and it’s hanging over my computer. If you’d want something that is worth dwelling on, then I’d highly suggest going out and googling one or two concepts that you feel strongly about, and look for quotes regarding those things.  Taking the words and thoughts of those who have gone on before is a wonderful way to help in knowing your mind.  Pull back, after you get your own list, and dwell on the thoughts for a few days.
