DID YOU KNOW that many words have been added to 1 John 5 by the translators?
Note: [In several translations TWB] In verses 7 and 8, you will find twenty-five words in bold print. These words were not in the original manuscript, but are some of the words that have been added to this chapter by the translators.
1 John 5
5) “Who is the (one) overcoming the world except the (one) who believes that Y’hoshua is the Son of YHVH?
6) “This is the (One) coming through water and blood, Y’hoshua HaMoshiach; not by the water only, but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the (One) witnessing, because the Spirit is the truth.
7) “For there are three bearing witness: (in Heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.)
8) “(And there are three who bear witness on the earth🙂 The Spirit, and the water, and the blood; and the three are into the one.”
The Spirit:
The Father is Spirit, and He is the Spirit of Truth. The Spirit is called the Set-Apart (“Holy”) Spirit, and the Spirit of Separation. “. . .the Holy Spirit whom Elohim has given to those who obey Him.”[Acts 5:32b] The Spirit is also called the Comforter.
The Water:
The Water is the Word. We are cleansed by the washing of the Water of the Word. The Word is the Torah, the Writings and the Prophets. Y’hoshua HaMoshiach (Messiah, the Anointed) is the Word made flesh. [John 1:14]
The Blood:
There is no remission of sin (breaking the commandments of the Torah) without the shedding of blood. By the propitiation of Y’hoshua’s blood, because He was perfect and sinless, we can be declared innocent, when we are repentant (brokenhearted) because of our sins, and when we declare that Y’hoshua (YAH is Deliverer) is the Son of YHVH (YAH-WHEY). “For it shall be, all who shall call on the name of YHVH shall be delivered.” [Joel 2:32a, Romans 10:13]
Along with these two actions must be the decision to be obedient, a doer of the Word: IF THE WORD SAYS IT, AND IT IS POSSIBLE TO DO IT, I WILL DO IT! “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have (it) more abundantly.” [John 10:10b]
