Obedience Brings The Abundant Life YHN

DID YOU KNOW that Y’hoshua, having been made flesh and given free will, had to choose to be obedient, just as we are given free will and must choose between obedience and disobedience?

“So also the Messiah (has) not honored Himself to become a high priest, but He speaking to Him, ‘You are My Son; today I have begotten You.’ As He also says in another (place), ‘You (are) a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek,’ who in the days of His flesh (was) offering both petitions and entreaties to Him being able to save Him from death, with strong crying and tears, and being heard from (His) godly fear; though being a Son, He learned obedience from what He suffered and having been perfected, He came to be (the) Author of eternal salvation to all the (ones) obeying Him, . . .” [Hebrews 5:5-9]

BECAUSE WE DID NOT CHOOSE TO OBEY THE COMMANDMENTS OF YHVH, Y’hoshua, from His free will, chose to be obedient to His Father’s commands and become the sacrifice that would take away our sins.

“Therefore, brothers, I call on you through the compassions of Elohim to present your bodies a living sacrifice, set apart, pleasing to Elohim, (which is) your reasonable service.” [Romans 12:1]

And 1 John 2:6 says, “The (one) claiming to rest in Him ought so to walk himself as that (One) walked.” ASK YOURSELF, DO I? “The (one) loving father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And the (one) loving son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.” [Matthew 10:37]

What about the things of the world? “Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him, because all that which (is) in the world: the lust of he flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and its lust. But the (one) doing the will of Elohim abides forever.” [1 John 2:15-17]

WHEN OUR THOUGHTS ARE CENTERED ON THE THINGS OF THE WORLD, “THINGS” HAVE BECOME OUR EL.

“And He said to them, ‘Beware, and keep back from covetousness; for one’s life is not in the abundance of the things which are his.’” [Luke 12:15] Also, “. . .No one putting his hand on the plow, and looking at the things behind, is fit for the kingdom of Elohim.” [Luke 9:62]

Life is not in possessions. In fact, if they become the center of our existence, the possessions actually possess us — we do not possess them! Instead of rejoicing in possessions, “I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies as over all riches.” [Psalm 119:14]

IT IS THROUGH OBEDIENCE TO THE WORD OFYHVH THAT WE DISCOVER THE ABUNDANT LIFE!
