DID YOU KNOW that most of us were not brought up to walk in the Truth of the Scriptures, even though we may have faithfully attended church services, Sunday after Sunday?
So, just what is this Truth that Scripture commands us to follow?
“You are near, O YHVH, and all Your commandments are truth. Concerning Your testimonies, I have known of old that You have founded them forever.” [Psalm 119:151-152]
“Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your Torah is truth.“ [Psalm 119:142]
“The entirety of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments (endures) forever. [Psalm 119:160]
In the Messiah’s prayer to the Father: “Sanctify them (set them apart) in Your Truth; Your Word is Truth.” [John 17:17]
And in the words of the apostles:
“I rejoiced greatly because I found your children walking in truth, as we received command from the Father.“ [2 John 4]
“Do not go astray, my beloved brothers, every
(act of) good giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of light, with whom is no change or shadow of turning. Having purposed, He brought us forth by (the) Word of truth, for us to be a certain firstfruit of His creatures.” [James 1:16-18]
“And of His fullness we have all received, grace on top of grace, because the Torah was given through Moses, grace and truth came into being through Y’hoshua the Messiah.” [John 1:17]
“. . .preach the Word,. . . For a time will be when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own lusts, they will heap up to themselves teachers tickling the ear; and (they) will turn away the ear from truth and will be turned aside to myths.” [2 Timothy 4:2-4]
“All Scripture (is) given by inspiration of YHVH, and (is) profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of Elohim may be complete, fully equipped for every good work.” [2 Timothy 3:16-17)
All Scripture, spoken of by Paul in his letter to Timothy, included the Torah (Books of Moses), the Prophets and the Writings. There was no “New Testament,” of course.
