Who Has The Covenant And Who Has The Redeemer YHN

Quoting from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, dated August 24, 2002, “Many mainline Christian denominations do not target Jews for conversion, he (Martin Marty) said, adding that those who want to aggressively convert Jews must grapple with passages in Romans 9-11 in which the Apostle Paul says God’s covenant with the Jews has not been abrogated.”

Either all of the Word (in the original language) is true, or none of it is true. So, if Christians are in agreement that the covenant YHVH made with the house of Israel and the house of Judah is still in effect, where is the covenant He cut with gentiles?

I have heard Christians say that they are under the new covenant, but the Word of YHVH says that the new (renewed) covenant also is to be made with the house of Israel and the house of Judah (Jeremiah 31:31). The renewed covenant is the original covenant, except the renewed covenant will be put in their inward parts (Jeremiah 31:33). Again, in what book, chapter and verse of the Scriptures does it say that YHVH ever cut a covenant with gentiles?

In fact, is the god of the Christians the Elohim of the Scriptures?

“You are My witnesses, declares YHVH, And My servant whom I have chosen, so that you know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no El formed, nor after Me there is none. I, I am YHVH, and besides Me there is no saviour.” (Isaiah 43:10-11)

“Sha’ul (Paul), a servant of Elohim and an emissary of Y’hoshua the Messiah, according to the belief of Elohim’s chosen ones and knowledge of the truth according to reverence, in expectation of everlasting life which Elohim, who does not lie, promised before times of old, but in its own times has manifested His word through preaching, with which I was entrusted according to the command of Elohim our Saviour, to Titus, a genuine child according to our common belief: Favour, compassion, peace from Elohim the Father and the Master Y’hoshua the Messiah our Saviour.” (Titus 1:1-4)

“But when the kindness and the love of Elohim our Saviour toward man appeared, He saved us, not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to His compassion, through the washing of regeneration, and renewal by the Set-apart Spirit, which He poured out on us richly through Y’hoshua the Messiah our Saviour, that having been declared right by His favour we should become heirs according to the expectation of everlasting life.” (Titus 3:4-7)

“. . .Is it not I, YHVH? And there is no mighty one besides Me, a righteous El and a Saviour, there is none besides Me. Turn to Me and be saved, all you ends of the earth! For I am El, and there is none other.” (Isaiah 45:21b-22)

Question: Are there two saviours, or is there just one? If there is just one, who is it?

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them everlasting life, and they shall by no means ever perish, and no one shall snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. And no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one.” (John 10:27-29)

“And Y’hoshua answered him, ‘The foremost of all the commands is, “Hear (Hebrew: Sh’mah), O Yisra’el, YHVH our Elohim, YHVH is One.” (Mark 12:29) This is, of course, the first line of the Sh’mah, which is found in Deuteronomy 6:4-9.

Sh’mah means “hear with intelligence, with the implication of obedience.”

The Hebrew meaning for one, as used here, is unity. The Greek definition is just the numerical figure one.

And who is our Redeemer?

From the prayer of King David: “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing before You, O YHVH, my Rock and my Redeemer.” (Psalm 19:14)

“Thus said YHVH, your Redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb, ‘I am YHVH, doing all, stretching out the heavens all alone, spreading out the earth, with none beside Me, . . .’ ” (Yeshayahu/Isaiah 44:24)

“. . .All flesh shall know that I, YHVH, am your Saviour, and your Redeemer, the Elohim of Ya’aqob/Jacob.” (Isaiah 49:26b)

“For your Maker is your husband, YHVH of hosts is His Name, and the Set-apart One of Yisra’el is your Redeemer. He is called the Elohim of all the earth.” (Isaiah 54:5)

“Thus said YHVH, Sovereign of Yisra’el and his Redeemer, YHVH of hosts, ‘I am the First and I am the Last, besides Me there is no Elohim.’ ” (Isaiah 44:6)

“For I know that my Redeemer lives, and as the Last shall rise over the dust; and after my skin has been struck off, then in my flesh I shall see Elohah, whom I myself shall see on my side, and not a stranger. . .” (Job 19:25-27a)

It is important to note that, according to the Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, the word redeemer is used only eighteen times in all of the Scriptures, and thirteen of those are found in the Book of Isaiah. The word redeemer does not appear in the Messianic Scriptures.

It also is important to know the definition of redeemer. It means to redeem (according to the Oriental law of kinship), i.e., to be the next of kin (and as such to buy back a relative’s property, marry his widow, etc.); also from the Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible.

It also lists the word kinsman eleven times in the Book of Ruth. It is #1350, kinsman redeemer, the same number and same definition as redeemer. Read the Book of Ruth again as you search for greater understanding about the kinsman redeemer.

You will discover that you cannot be redeemed by a stranger! You can only be redeemed by your next of kin — the very closest member of your family. That is the reason for the wording in the Book of Ruth, when she said: “Your people (shall be) my people, and Elohekka (your El) Elohay (my El) .” Joining the family came first.

Though it may appear to be unrelated to the Book of Ruth, please go with me to John 14:6, “Y’hoshua said to him, ‘I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” (John 14:6)

The Way “For I have known him, so that he (Abraham) commands his children and his household after him, to guard the way of YHVH, to do righteousness and justice, so that YHVH brings to Abraham what He has spoken to him.” (Genesis 18:19)

“Hear, O Yisra’el: YHVH Elohanu (our El), YHVH is One! And you shall love YHVH Elohekka (your El) with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might. And these Words which I am commanding you today shall be in your heart, and you shall teach them to your children, and shall speak of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up, and shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” (Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Mark 12:29-30)

“And YHVH commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear YHVH Elohanu for our good forever, to keep us alive, as today. And it shall be righteousness for us when we take heed to do all this commandment before YHVH Elohanu, as He has commanded us.” (Deuteronomy 6:24-25)

The Truth: “Your righteousness is righteousness forever, and Your Torah is truth.” (Psalm 119:142)

“You are near, O YHVH, and all Your commands are truth.” (Psalm 119:151)

In the Messiah’s prayer to the Father: “Set them apart in Your truth — Your Word is truth.” (John 17:17)

“I rejoiced greatly because I found your children walking in truth, as we received command from the Father.” (2 John 1:4)

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was ElohimAnd the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us. And we beheld His esteem, esteem as of an only begotten from the Father, full of favour and truth.” (John 1:1, 14)

The Life: “The Torah of the wise is a fountain of life, turning one away from the snares of death.” (Proverbs 13:14)

“For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light.” (Psalm 36:9)

“Therefore Y’hoshua spoke to them again, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall by no means walk in darkness, but possess the light of life.” (John 8:12)

“So that, my beloved, as you always obeyed — not only in my presence, but now much rather in my absence — work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is Elohim who is working in you both to desire and to work for (His) good pleasure. Do all matters without grumblings and disputings, in order that you be blameless and faultless, children of Elohim without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding on to the Word of life, for a boast to me in the day of the Messiah, that I have not run in vain or laboured in vain.” (Philippians 2:12-16)

“For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the (matters) of the flesh, but those (who live) according to the Spirit, the (matters) of the Spirit. For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace. For we know that the Torah is Spiritual. . .” (Romans 8:5-6; 7:14a)

Does it not say that the Messiah Y’hoshua is the Word (the Torah) made flesh in John 1:14?

And, in the words of the Messiah, the Torah Made Flesh: “It has been written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by YHVH.’ Everyone, then, who has heard from the Father, and learned, comes to Me.” (John 6:45) Yet, in John 14:6, we are told that no one comes to the Father except through the Messiah. Does this sound contradictory: You learn from the Father and come to the Messiah Y’hoshua, but the Messiah Y’hoshua says that no one comes to the Father but by Him?

The key can be found in John 5:46-47, “For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”

If you study the Torah — and are searching for Truth will all your heart — you will find the Messiah Y’hoshua there. Conversely, if you are searching for Truth with all your heart, and call on the Messiah Y’hoshua for salvation, He will take you to the Torah and teach you about Himself. In either case, only then can you be restored to the Father, for the Torah — which is perfect for restoring the soul (Psalm 19:7) — gives all the Father’s instructions for having life. Y’hoshua the Messiah, who is the Word, came to the earth in a body of flesh for the purpose of restoring eternal life.

What is eternal life? “And this is eternal life, that they should know You, the only true Elohim, and Y’hoshua the Messiah whom You have sent.” (John 17:3)

From that same chapter in John, beginning in verse 6 and continuing through verse 17: “I have revealed Your Name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world. They were Yours, and You gave them to Me, and they have guarded Your Word. Now they have come to know that all You gave to Me, is from You. Because the Words which You gave to Me, I have given to them. And they have received them, and have truly known that I came forth from You, and they believed that You sent Me.

“I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I have been esteemed in them. And I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Set-apart Father, guard them in Your Name which You have given Me, so that they might be one, as We are.

When I was with them in the world, I was guarding them in Your Name which You have given Me, and I watched over them, and not one of them perished except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. And now I come to You. And I speak these (words) in the world, so that they have My joy completed in them. I have given them Your Word, and the world hated them because they are not of the world, as I am not of the world. I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the wicked (one). They are not of the world, as I am not of the world. Set them apart in Your truth — Your Word is truth.”

“Your righteousness is righteousness forever, and Your Torah is truth.” (Psalm 119:142)

How can you believe Him if you do not know what He said; and how can you really learn to know Him if you are disobedient to His instructions?

Again, the question arises: Are there three gods? Two gods? One Elohim?

Whose foot is going to touch down on the Mount of Olives? “And YHVH shall go forth, and He shall fight against those gentiles, as He fights in the day of battle. And in that day His feet shall stand upon the Mount of Olives, which faces Yerushalayim/Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, a very great valley, and half of the mountain shall move toward the north and half of it toward the south., And you shall flee to the valley of My mountain — for the valley of the mountains reaches to Atsal. And you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziyah sovereign of Judah. And YHVH Elohay shall come — all the set-apart ones with You.” (Zechariah 14:3-5)

And consider these words:

“Who has performed and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I, YHVH, the First and the Last, I am He<.” (Isaiah 41:4)

“Thus says YHVH the king of Israel and his Redeemer, YHVH of hosts: I am the First and I am the Last; and there is no Elohim except Me.” (Isaiah 44:6)

“Listen to Me, O Jacob, and Israel My called: I am He, I am the First, I am also the Last.” (Isaiah 48:12)

I am the ‘Aleph’ and the ‘Tav’, the Beginning and the End,” says YHVH, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:8)

“Do not be afraid, I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore.” (Revelation 1:17b-18)

I am the ‘Aleph’ and the ‘Tav’, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” (Revelation 22:13)

There cannot be two firsts and two lasts, or two beginnings and two ends!

Neither is there but one Word: The Torah! The Instructions for Having Life! The Law! The Way! The Truth! The Torah made flesh! “. . .and having been dressed in a robe dipped in blood — and His Name is called: The Word of YHVH.” (Revelation 19:13)

And there is only one flock, the flock the Set-apart One of Israel created for Himself. That is where the covenant is still in effect; and that is where you will find the promises. Unless you, like Ruth, accept His people and, according to Philippians 2:11, confess that Y’hoshua the Messiah is YHVH — and choose by your repentance and obedience to be brought into the everlasting covenant — you will one day hear, “I say to you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of lawlessness. (Then) There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the reign of Elohim, and yourselves thrown outside.” (Luke 13:27-28)
